Azovsko Padalo

Azovsko Padalo is a “hidden” gem in the northernmost part of the Western Rhodopes, above the town of Belovo, with Golyamo Belovo village as a convenient starting point. The waterfall lies on the Azovitsa River, tucked into a narrow, forested valley of old beech trees, where the water slides down a rock chute and drops roughly 15–17 m in a graceful horsetail-like fall. It is perennial, yet most impressive in spring during snowmelt. The approach is wild and challenging, which keeps the spot quiet and rarely visited. Nearby you can also combine the trip with Belovo Basilica and the ruins of the fortified town of Levke.
