Bezbozhko (Bezbog) Lake

Bezbozhko Lake is one of the most accessible high-mountain glacial lakes in Northern Pirin, within Pirin National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). It lies in the Bezbozhki cirque, about a kilometre northeast below Bezbog Peak, at 2,239 m a.s.l., with Bezbog Hut on its northern shore.

The lake covers roughly 1.9 ha (about 225 × 125 m), reaches around 7 m in depth, and gives rise to the Bezbozhka River, a tributary of the Mesta. Moraines, boulders and dwarf mountain pine frame the shoreline, while the calm surface mirrors the surrounding ridges. The easiest approach is the chairlift from Gotse Delchev Hut, after which the water is only a short walk away.
