Chatala Waterfall

Chatala Waterfall is a small but distinctive waterfall on the northern slopes of Belasitsa, above the area of Kamena and Samuilovo villages. It is formed by a small left tributary of the Kameshnitsa River and belongs to the wilder, quieter group of waterfalls in this part of the mountain. Its name comes from the unusual shape of the cascade: the stream splits into two arms and falls along both sides of the rock, almost merging during periods of higher water.

Although modest in height, Chatala is memorable for its secluded atmosphere, moss-covered stones and the fresh greenery of Belasitsa. The surrounding area is part of Belasitsa Nature Park, known for its old forests and rich mountain landscapes. The waterfall is best appreciated as a quiet natural spot, away from the most crowded trails, where the sound of water and shade of the forest create a calm, hidden corner of the mountain.
