Chudnite Skali is one of the most remarkable rock phenomena in eastern Bulgaria. Rising above the shore of Tsonevo Reservoir near the village of Asparuhovo, it appears as a chain of pale limestone towers and needle-like forms shaped by wind and water over centuries. From a distance, the rocks resemble the ruins of an ancient fortress, while their reflection in the water makes the landscape even more striking. Tunnels cut through parts of the massif, adding to the sense of a dramatic stone passage. Protected as a natural landmark, Chudnite Skali combines sculpted geology, a memorable silhouette, and a powerful setting between rocky slopes, calm reservoir waters, and mountain relief.
