Hotnitsa Waterfall

Hotnitsa Waterfall, also known as Kaya Bunar, is one of the signature natural sights near Veliko Tarnovo. On the Bohot River, the water slides over a limestone ledge and drops into a small turquoise pool, framed by steep rock walls and lush greenery. The spot is a protected natural landmark and is easy to reach—just outside the village of Hotnitsa, about 20 km from Veliko Tarnovo. From the waterfall starts the Hotnitsa eco-trail, a short walk through the canyon with wooden bridges, stairs and viewpoints, passing smaller cascades and cool shady corners.
