Kominite

Kominite is a rocky locality on the northeastern slope of Vitosha, formed by two sharp rock towers – Lower and Upper Komin – rising at about 1600–1620 m above sea level above the Dragalevska River.

Their granite-andesite walls drop almost vertically into the deep valley, creating an impressive natural landmark with wide views towards the Sofia plain and the surrounding peaks.

Today Kominite is one of the classic crags for alpine and rock climbing on Vitosha, where generations of Bulgarian climbers have taken their first steps on the many training routes along the cliffs.
