Skalovitec Waterfall

Skalovitec Waterfall (also signed as Skalovitsko Dere) is a scenic cascade in Eastern Rila, above Villas Kostenets. It sits on the Skalovitec River, a right tributary of the Rybnitsa, tucked in a cool forested ravine where the stream slides and drops over three tiers. The highest fall is about 25 m, while the total drop of the cascade reaches roughly 55–56 m. At the base there’s a small pool, a bench to rest, and even a tiny water wheel crafted by locals. The waterfall is most striking in spring or after rains, when the flow amplifies the vertical plunge and the rock amphitheater glistens.
