Smolichano watefall

Smolichanski Waterfall “St. Anna” is a small yet very scenic karst waterfall in the Osogovo Mountains, next to the village of Smolichano (Nevestino Municipality, Kyustendil Region).

Two cold karst springs join within the yard of the Smolichano Monastery “Sts. Joachim and Anna”, pass the sacred spring (ayazmo) and spill over a mossy limestone edge, forming a 12–15 m drop.

Behind the falling water there is a rock recess and a tiny pass-through cave, offering a close-up view.

The waterfall is at its best in spring and after rainfall, and it’s reached by a short walk from the end of the village.
