Stolo is a remarkable rock phenomenon in the Ponor Mountains (Western Balkan Range), north of Breze village and Dobravitsa near Svoge. Rising from a karst massif of limestone and dolomite, it forms a rocky “crown” cut by deep vertical fissures that open into narrow chasms. The rock face is marked with distinctive horizontal bands, and from afar the silhouette resembles a giant’s chair. The edge drops steeply—over 150 m in places—so extra caution is needed near the cliffs. From the grassy plateau you get sweeping views toward Vitosha, Rila and Mount Kom.
