Urdini Lakes

Urdini Lakes are a group of six glacial lakes nestled in the Urdin cirque of north-western Rila, between the peaks Damga and Dodov. Lying at around 2,300 m above sea level, they form the upper course of the Urdina River, belong to Rila National Park and are protected as a natural landmark.

Each lake has its own character – from the small round Suhoto Lake to the wide Golyamata Panitsa with grassy shores and tiny waterfalls at its outflow. Because access is relatively difficult, the area remains wild and tranquil, with impressive views towards the Malyovitsa range and a strong sense of true high-mountain solitude.
