Varovitets Waterfall is a karst cascade in the Central Balkan Mountains, literally behind Etropole Monastery “St. Trinity”. The stream of Manastirski Dol spreads over travertine ledges and drops in many ribbons from about 12–15 m—at its fullest in spring and often freezing into fantastic shapes in winter. The site has been protected as a natural landmark since 1965, and a holy spring feeding the creek rises a few hundred metres upstream. Mossy rocks, limestone sculptures and the constant roar make Varovitets a signature sight of the area.
