Mount Viden (1,487 m) is the highest point of the Konyavska Mountains in western Bulgaria. Its conical, rocky summit—built of Triassic limestones and marls—rises above the Kyustendil Basin. From the open ridge you get broad panoramas across the surrounding ranges; on clear days you can pick out Osogovo, Vitosha, Rila and even Pirin. Just north of the top stands the tower of the regional radio-relay and TV station, operating since 4 September 1969. A service road reaches close to the summit, so it’s a straightforward walk with a rewarding sense of space and height.
